4040 Series Seawater Reverse Osmosis Membranes are widely used for commercial, industrial and agricultural water desalination.

Performance:

Operating Guidelines:
It is CRITICAL to avoid abrupt pressure or crossflow variations across the RO membrane elements during startup, shutdown, cleaning, or other sequences to prevent possible membrane damage. During startup, a gradual change from standby to operating state is recommended as follows:
• Feed pressure should be increased gradually over a period of 30 to 90 seconds.
• Crossflow velocity at the set operating point should be reached gradually over 15 to 30 seconds.
• Permeate obtained during the first hour of operation must be discarded.
Important Information:
Keep RO membrane elements wet at all times after initial wetting. Failure to strictly follow the operating limits and guidelines given in this specification will void the limited warranty with the supplier. To prevent biological growth during extended system shutdowns, it is recommended that RO membrane elements be immersed in a storage solution. The customer is fully responsible for the effects of incompatible chemicals and lubricants on the elements. The maximum pressure drop across a pressure vessel (housing) is 50 psi (3.4 bar). Avoid static back pressure on the permeate side at all times.
